Canadian National Vimy Memorial

Located at the summit of the Crest of Vimy and near ACE Hotel Arras-Beaurains, this impressive memorial in honour of Canada was bequeathed to those citizens who fought and gave their lives in the First World War. The Canadian National Vimy Memorial is the most prestigious Canadian monument in Europe, is engraved with the names of 11,285 soldiers who gave their lives, and commemorates the battle of 9 April, 1917. Surrounded by tunnels and trenches that are open to the public, this monumental work dominates the valley of Artois.
