A memorial to the First World War located in Arras in the department of Pas-de-Calais and near ACE Hotel Arras-Beaurains, the Wellington Quarry opens its bowels to reveal a period of world military history. In the labyrinth of this veritable underground city, over 20,000 Commonwealth soldiers prepared for the renowned Battle of Arras, the largest surprise attack of the First World War. This dive into history, 20 metres below the Arras cobblestones, plunges contemporary visitors into a collective history in which our men joined forces to secure our freedom.
